The Mistral-Evolution is optimized to generate Nitrogen of constant purity that is ideal for laboratory applications like LCMS techniques and other inert gas applications. The pure Nitrogen is produced locally at low pressure and at ambient temperature which is a very much appreciated advantage over high pressure gastanks or liquid Nitrogen. There will be no extra cost anymore for gas-supply, transportation, storage and handling. Moreover, the large quantities of pure Nitrogen used for LCMS require a continuous supply which cannot be provided by gastanks.
The Mistral Evolution uses the pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology which removes oxygen, carbon dioxide and water from compressed air and delivers a continuous flow of pure nitrogen of high purity. The first stage of the internal oil-free compressor delivers filtered compressed air to a first set of cartridges with Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS) which pores removes oxygen, water vapour, carbon dioxide, and hydrocarbons. At the same time a second set of CMS works in regeneration mode with purified nitrogen. Both sets alternate between purification and regeneration modes, ensuring a continuous supply of nitrogen at the specified purity levels. This cycle operates on a continuous basis, ensuring a constant stream of nitrogen gas, 24/7 if required. Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS) is not considered to be a regular replacement component and is expected to have a minimum service life of at least 10 years, under correct operation and maintenance.
The new generator Mistral EVO Gas-Station is the global dedicated solution for the new Microwave Agilent 4100MP system. The well known and proven pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology is used to generate nitrogen with a purity >99.5% and a flow of up to 25 Nl/min simultaneously with up to 40 Nl/min of dry air for Pre-optics Protection (POP) and External Gas Control module (EGM). Thanks to a particular insulation the Mistral EVO Gas-Station can be installed in the laboratory near the instrument or underneath the laboratory bench.
