Unmodified, weakly acidic silica, very polar. Adsorbs humidity from air, for this reason it should be kept well closed and if necessary dried before use. Due to its high affinity for polar compounds it should not be conditioned with polar (e.g., methanol) or water-containing solvents.

Recommended applications:

Silica is particularly effective at separating compounds with a very similar structure. Applying the analytes in a non-polar solvent, then increasing the solvent polarity by increasing the concentration of a polar modifier, such as THF or ethyl acetate, delivers effective separations. Suitable for Aflatoxins, Chloramphenicol, Pesticides, Steroids, Vitamins
